|
The International Echoes Hub has joined forces with Neptune Pink
Floyd to merge the collective efforts and
experience from each of our members.
Now everyone can now contribute in numerous ways.
In the world of Pink Floyd, our goal is to become a growing voice
that few fans shall dare to ignore.
By steering people towards the participation in each of our
communities, whether it's meeting other fans, voting on interesting
topics, sharing concert memories, trading concert recordings, or
just chatting all night long with another fan 15,000 miles away, we
will all be given the opportunity to express our visions, opinions
and our desires with new like-minded people.

- DC++ Tips and Tricks - |
|
1.
Ever
send somebody a message in the Echoes Hub and see this?
"I'm
away. State your business and I might answer later if you're lucky.
<DC++ v0.674>".
Well, this is everyone's default away message and it's boring and a
bit rude. There is an easy way to change this and be creative with
your own. All you have to do is click File > Settings > Appearance,
and erase what is inside of the "default away message" window. Now
type the response you would like others to see when you are away
from your computer.
2.
Auto re-connecting to the Echoes Hub.
Have you
ever come back to your pc to check if your download has finished
only to find that it hasn't and you have been disconnected from the
hub for a few hours? Connections between two computers are
interrupted for many different reasons; the server crashing, a
change of your IP address which was forced by your ISP, even a
temporary Internet hiccup between two locations.
Here is
one way to help. You can set the dc++ software to reconnect
automatically if such an event occurs. The software can be
instructed to re-connect every two minutes. To do this, click the
Yellow Star and find Echoes Hub. Check the little box that is just
below the word "Auto".
3.
Changing the colors of the software.
Not
happy with the default colors? Would you like to change the colors
of the interface? Ok, then click File > Settings > Colors and
Sounds. Now you know how to play with the settings and change it the
way YOU want it to be.
Note: You must restart the software for this to take effect.

Due
to popular demand, we have brought back the Question Of The
Month (QOTM) to the
Echoes Hub.
The QOTM is a never trivia, but rather a
hypothetical question that allows everyone the opportunity to give a
serious answer or an unexpected and sometimes humorous answer.
To
participate just login and type +qotm in main chat, then send a
private message to a moderator with your answer. This month's QOTM
is...
If
Pink Floyd buried a time capsule in 1980, which was filled with
their artifacts, what would you expect to find inside of it?
Here are a few of the answers...
-
<Marooned>
The Azimuth Coordinator and saliva from the Montreal 77 show.
- <Dog>
The Household Objects album.
- <Groovinpict>
Inflatable Pig, A prism, and Syd Barrett's hair.
- <comfortablypink>
Syd Barrett.
- <themadcap2002>
roger waters sense of self importance.
