On An Island, the new album from David Gilmour is released on March
6th.
On An Island is a collection of songs and instrumentals that had its
genus in the critically acclaimed 2002 London Festival Hall
concerts. Gilmour has stepped out of his super-group to discover
he's still at his peak - and he's rightly pleased.
"It's my best and
most personal work" he says, "Making it with my musician friends has
been a positive experience on so many levels." And touring it this
spring can only take him to a new high.
The album, was produced by David Gilmour, Phil Manzanera and Chris
Thomas.
From today Friday Feb 24, 2006 you can view video clips of each
track on the album exclusively on David's site. Each day a different
clip will be posted. Don't miss this! Sign up today at

- More David Gilmour Tickets Released! - |
|
Your Prayers Answered – More Tickets!
As predicted in these pages, we have been able to release some
tickets for London's Royal Albert Hall for production reasons. They
will be going on sale via the Royal Albert Hall Box Office only,
at 9AM on
Monday 27th February.
There are tickets for every night (May 29, 30 & 31) in the 'choir'
section of the stage, so will be behind the musicians – a unique
viewpoint. A few (possibly 30 or so) for May 29 & 30 are in the
Arena (in front of the stage), in Rows 13, 15 and 17.
Please do not purchase them if you don't think you will be happy
with the seating. We try to help everyone but please remember that
tickets are not returnable.
Please also
note that the Albert Hall's policy of searching eBay and
invalidating tickets for sale there, is still in force.
For anyone not resident in Britain, apologies that returns are only
for UK dates. When we hear of others at any venue, we will post the
news here straight away.

- David Gilmour Interview with Billboard
Magazine - |
|
Here,
Gilmour talks about his new album, his creative partnership with his
wife and lyricist Polly Samson, his aspirations in life and, of
course, Pink Floyd.
Billboard Question: You've recorded only three solo albums
in 25 years. What triggered this one?
David Gilmour: "As well as the two previous solo albums
there's been two Pink Floyd albums in '87 and '94. So while it is
not very frequent, quite a lot of more work has gone on in the
intervening period. I have remarried and had four more children and
I have been enjoying bringing those children up. But in the last
couple of years it felt it was time to start again and..."
