- The International Echoes Hub's Roger Waters Concert Ticket Give Away! -

Congratulations to Honyak45!

He is Seattle Bound as he has recently won our Roger Water's Concert Ticket Giveaway for Key Arena on October 12th, 2006. The seat is located on the Floor, Section BB, Row 10.

The Echoes Hub extends it's thanks and appreciation to Mooner, who provided this awesome ticket to the winner of our contest. By doing this, he created a wave of generosity which sparked Echoes Hub members (comfortablypink and meddle) to offer multiple tickets at the last moment to more thankful Echoes Hubbers!

During Roger's 2006 American tour, we have amassed a total of 9 tickets that were given away for free to other members! Hub members from all reaches of the Northeast came "on the run" to finally meet friends face to face as well as experience Roger "in the flesh". It seems sharing doesn't only apply to lossless music.... :)

Thank you!

September 09, 2006 - Mansfield, Massachusetts concert review by Marooned

Mother nature offered everyone clear skies and 80 degrees of love as the warm summer night was illuminated by a beautiful and powerful almost-full moon floating above and casting down it's brilliant white light over a highly energetic crowd that was mesmerized by an enriched, behind the band, full stage video screen partnered with ideal venue acoustics that were further enhanced by an explosive surround sound setup. And the show hasn't even yet begun...

If that's not enough to excite you, keep reading because we haven't yet mentioned the inflatable astronaut or the intensity of the crowd after the first set of "Sheep", when Roger's pink inflatable pig, with the words "Don't be led to the slaughterhouse - Vote Democratic 2006" spray painted on, escaped and slowly rose hundreds of meters into the dark sky at the end of the first set. With all eyes on the flying pig making it's getaway, a spotlight from the rear of the venue shone on the pig as it disappeared into the night.

With almost 3 hours of high quality music and the seven Echoes Hub Members who gathered together before and after the show to exchange handshakes and hugs, it was a night filled with memories that will stay with each of us forever.

Surprisingly, Roger avoided more of his solo material and played just a few songs while focusing more on the famous music that he created years ago with Pink Floyd. However, P.P. Arnold still had her moment in the spotlight while/after singing Perfect Sense in which an appreciative crowd roared, screamed, whistled and cheered for minutes afterwards.

I'd like to personally thank rfj3, meddle and comfortablypink for contributing and sharing their dream with others. By purchasing and/or offering their extra free tickets for others who missed out on the ticket sales, they allowed some of us to secure newly found, lifetime personal friendships with each other.

September 11, 2006 - Mansfield Concert overview by Phukit.

The simple acoustic strains of "Mother" raised the hair on the back of my neck, I take for granted the lyrics sometimes but the political/personal message Roger words convey remain timeless. His voice sounded as good as ever, combined with the interplay with lead vocals with one of the female singers was an excellent touch. "Mother, should I trust the government?" Roger answered his own line by shaking his head. His facial expressions visibly accenting every word of, "F*** No". A prelude of things to come.

Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun" was a great vehicle for Snowy to show off. A great mix of album like keyboards with some grungy guitar improv. Syd's angelic face graced the multiple screens with a halo/sunburst while Roger played proper homage to the early creative genius behind Pink Floyd (where have we heard that before?). Really excellent sax playing into abrasively aggressive guitar interplay, they easily could've played this for several more minutes.

No doubt the absolute highlight of the highlight of the show for me was "Sheep". They could have played anything off Animals and I would have been happy but this was amazing! Listening to the show after the fact, the power of this song was palpable. No artist wants a 30 year old + song to be the highlight of the night, particularly someone as prolific as Roger. Looking down from my view from top of the lawn area we could see a inflatable pig being carried thru the pavilion area on tethers. To our surprise they actually came up on the lawn & let the pig go (which we could now read the painted message on the pig, "Don't be led to the slaughterhouse. Vote Democrat Nov. 2006") . To hear one of my all-time favorite songs while the pig floated next to the full moon and slowly disappeared with a spotlight shining on it was killer. If anyone reading this personally speaks to Roger, tell him to switch Sheep to the Encore....:)

September 15, 2006 - Mansfield Concert overview by comfortablypink

What Ill remember most about Friday nights Roger Waters concert at the Tweeter Center was meeting up with 6 very cool hub members. I know there were at least 2 more there (EricM06 and forbesy) and its too bad we couldnt have met them too.

Concerning the actual meeting, its unfortunate we really couldnt have nailed down an earlier time and location to meet. Knowing how traffic bottlenecks on I-495 near Mansfield, I arrived at pretty much the time I hoped to. Cygnals had called me earlier from the road so I knew he was about 7 exits behind me. He and I had already met at a previous concert so I knew I would have no problem picking him out of the crowd. I had talked to Illumina earlier in the day so I knew she would be there already.

Once at the gate, I started looking around for Illumina, although I didnt know what she looked like. She said she has long black hair and would be wearing a black shirt and blue jeans. I told her that would narrow it down to about 500 people. Im not sure who called who but we got a hold of each other by phone and described our locations I was at the WZLX tent (Boston radio station). I said was in the front of the promo car, she said she was at the back. As we each looked towards the opposite ends of the car, we laughed and hung up the phones. Then the long wait began. The gates opened and it was starting to get dark. I figured it was getting too dark for a group photo, even if the rest had showed up then so I decided to run my camera back to the car. My bother suggested I at least get a photo of me with Illumina. I thought it was getting time to get to our seats so I left with my camera. When I returned to the tent area, I recognized Cygnals walking towards the area. I realized the crowd he was with was the remaining Hubbers. After a quick handshake and hello with Cygnals, Viking and CC, I turned to look at another unfamiliar face. I offered my hand and said Marooned? (using his real name). He laughed and said no, phukit (using his real name). Then I heard him say Wow, nobody looks at all like I pictured you to look. Then, I turned to the last person, Marooned, and realized who it must have been. We had talked on the phone and online countless times. It was great finally getting to meet in person.

While everyone seemed to introduce themselves using their real names during introductions, I got a laugh out of CorporalClegg as he introduced himself to one of the group (I forget which one). He stuck out his long arm and this giant of a man with a booming voice said Hi, Im Corporal Clegg I thought it was funny but then again, I have a strange sense of humor.

Concerning the show itself, it was everything I hoped and expected it to be. Of course, I knew the set list so there were no surprises there. I very much enjoyed the classic Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun and was pleased to see a fitting visual tribute to Syd as the band played Shine On You Crazy Diamond. One funny moment during the show was watching the mass exodus to the beer lines and bathrooms during Leaving Beirut, only to watch them to return for the beginning of Sheep.

I would loved to have hung out after the show with the group but I had 3 other people to get home and, by the time I got home as it was, I had already been up 22 hours enough wake time for this old guy!!

Although Ive never really been a huge Roger fan (even though Careful With That Axe Eugene is one of my all-time favorites), Id certainly go see him again. I think Dave is missed more in Roger concerts than Roger is missed in Dave concerts, at least in my opinion. I also think the venue was a perfect setting for this type of show. To see Roger Waters in a huge football stadium, I think, would lose a lot of the intimacy his show seems to project.

Thanks to meddle for allowing 4 others to enjoy the show in his absence and to EricM06 for a wonderful job taping the show and getting it out to the trading community so fast.

Fantabulous! unfortunately I had to leave early due to the enduring standing downside on a hill, my legs were in so much pain. The show was top-notch, I felt privileged to be there, haven't seeing Waters since 1987 and times sure have changed since then. Meeting the Hubsters was a treat and worth it! Wonderful people, sadly I couldn't stay the whole show and with my newfound friends who I hadn't met yet. Thanks so much for sending the tickets, despite the millions of people at the venue, we all met up and everyone got their ticket(s). I feel much different now, being in great company so beloved in my computer to meeting everyone in real life. It puts a different perspective on things. The graphics and themes on the stage backdrop were phenomenal, the sound was excellent considering we were soooo far from the stage. Thanks meddle, and thanks Marooned, who truly is one born every few centuries. :D

September 28, 2006 - Mansfield Concert overview by CorporalClegg

Ok guys, I'm going to try and put out a short review, On the show. For this online thingamajig.

The day before the show I get a call from Marooned, asking me if I want to see the Roger show with him. After jumping up and down and yelling for five min, I ask him what all he wants for the ticket. He says "NO FREE" (again jumping up and down for 10 min this time) (remind me to kiss CP for free ticket) I say "ok, of course", and so i went to his house early (A Day early) Made him dinner. Fettuccini Alfredo with shrimp (to suck up).

The day of the show.. after waiting all morning for M to wake the fuck up, we got on our way to see ROGER.
We took a small detour to see some of the PA back roads and some of the finer points of road construction.
I should have brought a crash helmet and a valium, (helmet for me valium for M). All went fairly smooth till we hit MA traffic.

(note to readers. if you go to NW Massachusetts from the south.. try to go through Canada.. it will be faster..)

So we get to Viking's house. Break out a joint, or two might be 3 and of course a few beers. Ok now time to drive to show.. oh! and one more quick stop for more beer. Now off to the show was a very nice drive.. Janis on CD and (M was not driving..) Then being in MA we hit a huge line backed up 5 miles on freeway and getting to the show was slow. Talking to Cygnals and comfortablypink and Phukit on phone for first time trying to figure where to meet up.

Now we have to find Phukit.. (I wanted to yell out his name looking for him but M thought it was better to use the cell phone) so all of a sudden this stranger jumps into the car (I yell what the fuck are you doing here!!) oh its Phukit. He has a free VIP parking pass! A free VIP parking pass!! (cool dude). Then we meet up with Illumina, Cygnals, comfortablypink and his son. We were kind of late so we had to go in fast they went to there hill to stand and CP, CYG, and I went to our seats to enjoy the show (It's much better to see show sitting down and did we ever. (not going to say much about the show but it was fantastic better then I expected by far).

The pig was a great touch.. after show party in parking lot. with me, Cyg, Phukit, M and Viking and some asshole friend of Phukit) but was great. (if you wait to travel till 3am traffic isn't so bad.) then bed.. then for the thrill ride home.

Well that's the trip. hope you enjoyed reading it as much as i enjoyed going.. to say the least CP thank you so much.. if you ever need a kidney or something just ask) M it was a fun trip and looking forward to doing it again.. (note helmet +valium).

Note:
As a general rule, The International Echoes Hub free-trades unofficial, lossless recordings. We are very proud of the efforts extended by the tapers who used whatever device they had available to obtain some live footage and share with those who could not attend the concerts. A round of applause go out to each and everyone of you.

However, some of these recordings from Roger and Dave's tours are standard Mini Disc recordings that are not recorded in a lossless format. We don't mean to offend anyone, but unfortunately, if a lossless recording becomes available for any specific date that has an MD recording, then only the lossless recordings for that date can be shared on the Echoes Trading Hub.

The following list of availabilities below are an example. It is not our trading list in it's entirety.
