A few months back,
I came up with the idea about having an OP's pick
of the week and thought that it might be cool to have all of the
Moderators select their favorite boots and make it a high
priority to other traders who also would like to listen to these
shows based on our recommendations.
What
does this mean?
This means you don't have to wait in queue for these shows, just
request them from any Moderator. A slot will be auto-granted right
away. This will help circulate some
of the best shows out there and help our newest members start off
with a great list. Here is our most current list created from our week-by-week

As announced in last month's edition
of the Echoes Hub newsletter, Roger Waters is still touring and will
return to North America.
Once again, we have been blessed
with a rare opportunity to get a glimpse of the legend himself.
In September 2006, the venue was Mansfield Massachusetts - An
impromptu meeting that was organized quite efficiently and the
result was seven Echoes Hub Members who met and spent a magical
evening truly enjoying each other's company and all in the presence
of Roger Waters!
Now, Roger is inviting and inciting Echoes Hub to rise and unite
once again!
Check out the list below and send a
private message to Cygnals telling him to add your name to the
venue(s) you will be going to. Let's see if we can get Hub Members
to meet up at the various venues
and see how many Echoes Hub members will acquire tickets over the
next few months.

Lost
Sketches Of A Crazy Diamond - submitted by Cygnals
As everyone should know by now, the
late Roger "Syd" Barrett started Pink Floyd in 1965 and left the
group in 1968, eventually finding a reclusive peace in his native
Cambridge.
But while he will be remembered as the founder of the British
psychedelic sound, who foundered on the rocks of mental illness, he
would probably have preferred to be known as a visual artist.
From entering polytechnic at 16, to leaving Camberwell Art School
after his foundation course, he painted big, abstract oils - a
vocation he resumed in his forties, when he became a regular
customer of Heffers.
However, throughout his teens, he...

The Madness and
Majesty of Pink Floyd - submitted by Cygnals
In issue #1023,
Rolling Stone Magazine featured an article about Pink Floyd.
There was no
reason these men should ever stand together again. Roger Waters,
David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Rick Wright -- the four musicians who
carried Pink Floyd forward after Syd Barrett fell from reason in
1968 -- had not appeared on a stage together since June 1981, and it
hardly seemed possible they ever would again.
Waters and Gilmour had
famously shown contempt for each other for a quarter-century -- each
felt the other had tried to dishonor his life's work and hinder his
future. After Waters started a solo career in 1984, he...

I was asked by M if I would be willing to write something about my
whole experience here at International Echoes Hub, and I said yes...
at 4:05 AM on Easter Sunday. I was half asleep, on my 1st cup of
coffee, and did not realize what I had committed to. Nevertheless I
proceeded to write something up, thinking to myself, I cannot screw
this up too bad. I joined the echoes hub about 8 weeks ago. I was an
active trader in the 90s, but things kind of faded away.. as my job
and several relocations took its toll. I started back on the torrent
trading system, and one day.. I downloaded a file that was sourced
at the Echoes Hub. So I wanted to sign up for the membership... and
promptly applied. I got a reply that I was OK to go. I was all
excited.. and decided to give it a shot.. not knowing what the heck
I was going to be getting in to. I decided that I would share about
80 to 90 Gb of shows that I had on my hard drive.
I signed in... and it took me a few minutes to understand what was
going on. My first mistake was not to read the rules. I started to
get other member's lists, and got excited.... very excited. Within
the next few minutes... I saw bandwidth usage like you wouldn't
believe. I am talking about the download bandwidth. Ha ha... Comcast
was not bullshitting me when they said.. I had up to 8 mbps download
speed. I stepped out to get a cup of coffee, and when I came back..
I was disconnected..... actually kicked out (found out later - weeks
later). I promptly logged back in.. without knowing that I had been
kicked out. I got my first PM from someone called Groovinpict....
asking me how I was doing? The next 15 minutes was the most polite
way someone had told me that I had made major mistakes. I cut back
on the downloads to 5, started setting up my share directory... read
the rules... and apologized profusely. After this.. I was told to
remove about 70GB of the share that was non-compliant... :). I soon
understood the rules, and started to make sure I was in compliance.
A few days went by... and I figured Groovinpict was watching over
me... and suggested that I get active. What happened in the next few
days is why I am with the hub.. and plan on staying. The patience,
and approach that the ops took... to make my status active... was
amazing. Groovinpict spent hours with me... and almost got me
there... and then came access... who also took several hours.. to
help me out... and finally I did become active... and it opened a
whole new world. I was amazed... and impressed with the time and
patience people would take.. to be able to share music.
What I have realized since then is that you can find anything Floyd
related on the hub. You need to be patient. My share has grown to
430Gb, and I have shared everything I have downloaded from the hub,
without exception. I also saw that some members would add music
other than Floyd, and I started a small section for some of my
favorite bands other than Floyd. I understood that the way you stay
in good standing is to share what you have... and not to focus on
growing your share. There is no competition here in the hub. I
realized that the common element that brings us together is the
music. In the following weeks, other ops were always there to answer
questions, and to walk me through problems. Also found that there is
another Floyd fan from my state of New Mexico.
In closing, the experience of the last 8 weeks has been nothing but
fun. Since, my first mistake... I have made more... and I am proud
to say that I am still a member... I have not been kicked out or
banned. What I have learnt from this experience is that the cause is
a very worthy one. If you are a Floyd fan.. and a loyal one... you
have to be a part of Echoes Hub. I have understood the concept of
sharing... like never before. I have also found that we are all
equal on the hub. I have chatted with people from different
countries... and learnt quite a bit about their feelings about the
band. I would recommend the hub to anybody that likes music..
specifically Floyd...and classic rock.

The International Echoes Hub is sending out a personal invitation to
the Missing Registrants.
"Who are the Missing Registrants?", you ask. The Missing Registrants
are new users that completed the registration process but have not
logged in yet. Also, included in this group are those members that
have not logged in for a long time.
Haven't been here for a while? Log in and explore all the changes
our Hub has gone through. Check it out and let us know what you
think.
If you have not yet logged in for the first time, be prepared to be
amazed. The superior quality and sheer enormity of live recordings
available to you is unrivaled. Shows from every tour, from every
decade, and rare finds unavailable anywhere else, are at the Echoes
Hub awaiting for you to download. We invite you to try it out for 48
hours to see for yourself what Echoes has to offer. Testimonials
have said repeatedly that the Echoes Hub experience has far
surpassed any expectation they had when first joining. Here is one
amongst many members expressing their gratitude for having found
such a treasure.
"I stay logged into Echoes Hub 24/7 365 days a year. I came here for
quality lossless audio of unofficial recordings. What came next was
more than I ever could have anticipated. I became friends with
several online traders from all around the world and from different
areas in my own Country. I have made friendships here that will last
a lifetime."
This last year brought us two separate tours of a lifetime. David
Gilmour and Roger Waters both toured in the same year and played to
the same audiences. What more could a Floyd Lover ask for? Well, at
Echoes Hub, we offer the next best thing. Plenty of excellent
recordings of both artists from most venues are shared at Echoes. If
you saw a show and want a copy, this is the place to get it. If you
missed both tours, here is the perfect opportunity to download many
venues of your choice.
DC++ is a unique file sharing program and unlike most P2P programs
available, it allows you to share and chat in real time. Yes, live
interaction as opposed to one dimensional torrents and other such
programs. This personal touch enhances the experience of obtaining
the music you came here for. You can start interacting with others
immediately. When you first log in, right click on a user's name and
you can start chatting with them. Say hi to me or to any moderator
and we will answer any questions so that you can be on your way to
collecting the best music available.
Echoes Hub has 26 moderators available to provide technical support.
As moderators we are here to help ensure that DC++ file sharing
program is running optimally and will assist you with any additional
needed software. In main chat just ask for an operator and you will
receive the assistance you require. It's that easy.

Note:
As a general rule, The International
Echoes Hub free-trades unofficial, lossless recordings. We are very
proud of the efforts extended by the tapers who used whatever device
they had available to obtain some live footage and share with those
who could not attend the concerts. A round of applause go out to
each and everyone of you.
- Marooned
Where do all these recordings come from
anyways? Tapers! That elusive breed of concert leprechauns that
magically elude security goons to bring us all their audio gold. And
many of these imps can be found at here at the hub. If you've ever
wondered how they do it, what equipment they use, or where to find
the best deals for gear, there's always a few tapers lurking around.
Strike up a conversation in main chat of the hub and you're sure to
flush out a few who are more than happy to tell their stories and
tease you with their secrets. Who knows, you might just get the itch
and decide to bring some of your own gold back to the hub.

The
following list of availabilities below are an example. It is not our
trading lists in their entirety.
