a bit slow sometimes, very minimal hiss, much brighter and crispy than
the DFA release but!
is it really the same source? not really ... this is the genuine 1st gen
completely from the 1st source (same as the PM one) or there's a 3rd?
the Dark Side set is absolutely different from the DFA one (see below
for details)
the second set is the same as the Past Masters' TROTSON. So or it's
entirely from the first source (Past Masters) or it's a mix of a 3rd
source with the 1st, mmm I would opt for the first chance, I'm pretty
sure honestly. Here Careful is put at the beginning of the 2nd set,
indeed OoTD should be the last song before the encore and not the first
of the second set as on other versions, here it's included the Waters'
greeting "Thank you, very much, good night" at the end of the song
actually. Evident differences and points where to recognize the 2
sources:
• here there's the complete Speak To Me, cut in the other version ...
and on the DFA source there's a guy talking, no guy talking here.
• guy screaming after Money near the taper - no guy on the DFA source.
• at the end of Eclipse, on the DFA source, there are 2 guys yelling
near to the microphone (taper) and another guy whistling soon after also
near to the taper, here the guys yelling are far and there's not the
other guy whistling soon after.
• at the beginning of Careful there are guys talking near to the taper
on the DFA version, there are no guys talking here, there's rather a guy
yelling and others whistling. BUT! the DFA seems to have used a filler
from this first source for the end of Careful, there's there, on the DFA
version, the same guy who talks here ... it's clearly a filler there,
the sound changes markedly. Maybe in the other source the end of Careful
was missing, indeed it's missing the tunings and the Waters’ announce to
Echoes too (Echoes starts from the first notes on the DFA version)
• there’s a guy yelling near the taper on the applauses at the beginning
Echoes here , no guy on the DFA version … Echoes here includes the intro
+ tunings too indeed.
• on OoTD there are maybe less evident different guys whistling and
stuff, but it's enough a listen to understand there's a different
ambience, here it's included the Waters’ greeting missing in the DFA
source (where the song is put at the beginning of the second set).
• the same guy who talks at the beginning of Careful appears again at
the beginning of STC, no guy on the DFA source, again ... here there's
also the last greeting of Water's missing on the DFA source.
