Notes: Sound quality hits in the VG++ to EX- range. This is the only
show of the 1994 tour where the Floyd didn't play "Keep Talking". The
following is taken from a review posted on the newsgroup
alt.music.pink-floyd the day after the gig: The concert should begin at
21 hours in the Strahov Stadium. This is a mighty areal with grandstands
around for more than 100.000 people. The inner ground was all sand. It
was very cloudy (dark black clouds, uuuuh!) and it looked like rain. At
20.25 it began to rain and the ground of the stadium became a "muddy
desert" (just a little "Woodstock"). At 20.30 they startet the sound
collages and they lifted the video screen. This was hell! The crowd
didn't want to wait no more longer for the Floyd. So the crowd began to
cry for the band: "Pink - Floyd -Pink - Floyd -". And now every
technician who was seen on the stage got a big applause. This concert
was the only one in a formerly socialist country during the European
tour. Maybe that's the reason the crowd was so crazy. They had all to
wait so many years for this moment! Already at 20.50 the band entered
the stage and opened with "Shine on ...", 10 minutes earlier (only
because of the rain?). After LTF Dave welcomed the crowd in English,
Czech (!) and German. During OTTA they let down the screen (maybe the
technician wanted to repair a defect floodlight?). The lasers looked
much more better in the rain (espec. during "Sorrow"). The highpoint of
the 1st set was "One Of Thes Days". It was so.dark in the stadium, so
nobody could see the pigs before. So the crowd got into a flup about the
two pigs. After a 10 minutes break (the screen was liftet again) Dave,
Nick and Rick startet with "Astronomy Domine" and - what a wonder - the
rain stopped and there was no more rain during the show. "Comfortably
Numb" had a very long solo by Dave. After that the band left the stage
(I think they had an Earl Grey, haha) and the crowd wanted more, more,
more, ... The encore with fireworks ("Run Like Hell") was great again. A
reporter from a local Leipzig radio station (NRJ) phoned this morning
live from Prague. He mentioned after the concert 1.000 Pink Floyd fans
wantet to enter the stage. He also mentioned the official number of
spectators: The organizer sold over 130.000 tickets. Many viewers they
also let in without a ticket. So I think it was the greatest auditorium
during the European tour. This was my reviev and I hope you'll enjoy
this.. (Written by Wolf-Ruediger on 1994-09-08..) -Anonymous...
