  • OZZY OSBOURNE - "Heaven Is For Heroes" VENUE : Paladium, New York, USA DATE : 05/02/81 SETLIST : I Don't Know Crazy Train Believer Mr Crowley Flying High Again Revelation (Mother Earth) Steal Away (The Night) Drum Solo No Bone Movie Suicide Solution [Inc. Guitar Solo] Iron Man Children Of The Grave Paranoid LINE-UP : Ozzy Osbourne - vocals Randy Rhoads - guitar Rudy Sarzo - bass Tommy Aldridge - drums Don Airey - keyboards NOTES : Another very nice show, recorded during the same period of time as the shows used for the official "Tribute" album. Ozzy's voice is great and doesn't crack even once. He nails all the numbers backed by a blazing Randy Rhoads. Tommy Aldridge is on a great night too ! Now as for the sound quality, the recording I got was to be described as a VG audience recording but had a certain amount of flaws I tried to fix with this remaster. So mainly I rectified the DC Offset on the whole recording, EQed correctly to restore the high end and boost some of the medium which were a little muffled, and normalized at 95%. I then re-did the track split more accurately ("Revelation", "Steal Away" and the drum solo were on only one 15 minutes track, and so were "Iron Man" and "Children..."). I also had to repair some cuts and glitches, and now most of the time you can't tell at all. Now I'd describe the quality as VG+ to EX, but you'll be the ones to tell me. I'm not sure if "No Bone Movie" comes from the same source as the rest. There was an obvious cut before and after it and the recording doesn't sound the same as the rest. I had to EQ this one differently than the rest and rectify the pitch witch was too high. Maybe the taper wasn't able to tape "No Bone Movie" and added it from another source (or another show) later in order to have a complete show, or maybe the tape was just a little damaged on this point and had to be fixed (which could also explain the cuts and the change of quality). "Don't ask me, I don't know" ! ARTWORK INCLUDED Enjoy and go crazy !
