  • Roy Buchanan 1980-09-06 Maine Music Festival State Fairgrounds Lewiston, Maine "Dusty Box Recording, vol. 1" Other performers: Levon Helm and the Cate Brothers, Grateful Dead I received this recording via a trade many years ago after a very long search. I have never seen it circulating in digital form. If anyone has a better copy, please post it! To the best of my knowledge this is the complete set (I was standing in front of Roy at this show, but that doesn't help much...) The Dead sets circulate widely in excellent audience. I've never run across the Levon Helm/Cate Brothers set. Source: Audience cassette of unknown lineage Transfer: Nak CR2A > Sony CDR-W33 > CDR > EAC > CDWave (for tracking) > FLAC. Verified clean of SBEs via TLH. 1. Stone Blind 2. Johnny B Goode 3. Blues Instrumental 4. It Should Have Been Me 5. Hey Joe > 6. Foxy Lady 7. Can I Change My Mind 8. The Messiah Will Come Again Personnel: Roy Buchanan - Guitar and vocals Paul Jacobs - Piano Gordon Johnson - Bass Dan Brubeck - Drums No EQ or additional sound editing has been applied, this is the raw recording. Good audience source with several analog generations. Samples will be posted. Many thanks to the taper, whoever you are. *The Story of The Dusty Box: About 5 years ago, I tossed or gave away all of my cassettes prior to moving. Before leaving about 1500 tapes at the curb for the garbage man (I literally couldn't give 'em away), I stashed about 2 dozen that I feared I might never find in digital form. That box of tapes mysteriously disappeared. On 1/15/2008, the box was found in my basement, covered in dust, hiding behind an old slide projector.
