GE consistantly "borrows" free trade releases for their releases and lies about shows being soundboard (hoping that the magic word "soundboard" will gain it more sales). Now that sites like this offer information and free traders circulate shows well enough that the vast majority of fans don't have to buy bootlegs; Gypsy Eye is hurting for business. They once could count on a certain income, but it has slowly erroded to the point that it is seriously affecting their business strategy. How bad is it? Read the "Special Thanks" message on the back of the artwork. I'm so happy that I'm now on their artwork, it makes me proud to know why ;) LeeGeddy (Overall VG+?): Most likely Tinley Park, IL portion of this release came from "Scanning for Dragons". To see the full explanation of Scanning for Dragons (SfD) please go here. First of all DON'T let Gypsy Eyes' marketing ploy fool you. This show is NOT a pure soundboard source. It's mostly a FM scanner recording of (probably) Alex's IEM feed, or perhaps a tech's IEM feed. The Irvine show is likely from an AUD source. I don't have this GE show and my overall rating is based on SfD. Personally, I do NOT like scanner types of recordings. They are very dry, sterile and in most cases, MONO. The overall mix was flat and very compressed, the sound is very hollow and always have a tendency to sound very shrill-like. Please do not buy, sell, or distribute for profit. Keep the spirit of trading alive and well. You can probably find traders who would trade you SfD or the remaster along with a copy of the FULL Irvine, CA show. (DEC '02)
