  • LDB Special Series #46 Hello! Here is a new series from my collection. After the Master Series, here is the Special Series. Out of my 6,000+ shows and radio broadcasts, I have many concerts that were special for some reasons: the setlist, the musicians, the venue or unexpected events. These are the ones I'd like to propose you. Most of these come from my cassettes collection, so they will be released at a slower pace than my Master Series! But you won't be disappointed! I will try to gather the most unusual things I have in my collection and, as always, your feedback and comments will be my reward for all the work involved in this project. PETER GABRIEL Avignon, Parc des Expositions de Chateaublanc 19 October 1983 01.The rhythm of the heat 01.I have the touch 03.Not one of us 04.The family and the fishing net 05.Shock the monkey 06.Family snapshot 07.Intruder 08.Games without frontiers 09.Wallflower 10.Lay your hands on me 11.Solsbury hill 12.I don't remember 13.San Jacinto 14.On the air 15.Biko 16.Here comes the flood / Band Introduction Peter Gabriel - vocals, piano Jerry Marotta - drums, percussions David Rhodes - guitars, vocals Tony Levin - bass, Chapman stick, vocals Larry Fast - keyboards, Synthesizers Lineage: Unknown recording device > low generation tape > Aiwa Tape Deck AD-WX828 > Audigy Soundblaster > HD > SoundForge 7.0 > CD Wave >FLAC Frontend (level 6) A few days ago I visited a friend who is a huge Gabriel live shows collector and I asked him to borrow the one show he really felt needed to be put on digital format. We both agreed that this had to come from the fall 1983 tour which is absolutely our favourite. There, Gabriel reached his absolute peak of perfection and integration with the rest of the band. He never reached that level in the following tours. He selected this show in Avignon and you won't be disappointed by this show. The performance is strong, the recording clearly reflects this. This one was acquired one year after this show so it's a low generation source, although my friend does not remember if he obtained it from the taper. So, in absence of clear evidence, I will only state hat this is a low generation source. This is an excellent recording, considering that it is almost 25 years old. I did not alter the original sound, except for a bit cut of some hiss. Also, I took the freedom to adjust a little the overall pitch since the tape was running a bit too fast, according to my ears and what I remember from that tour. the result is truly amazing, a real must-have! Enjoy! ldb
