  • Chris Whitley Unknown venue, Charlottesville, VA November 2, 1992 Chris Whitley - vocals, guitar Master soundboard cassette > ? > CD > Plextor PX-708A extraction (EAC v0.95 prebeta 5) > tracking (CD Wave) > sector boundary verification (shntool v2.0.3) > .flac encoding (flac v1.1.0) EAC and FLAC encoding by Jack Warner (jackmw1ATsbcglobalDOTnet) ++++Remastered by NoSpEx++++ Disc (10 tracks) [42:26] 1 Hellhounds On My Trail [5:38] 2 Well All Right [2:57] 3 Long Way Around [4:19] 4 Bullfrog Blues [4:07] 5 Clear Blue Sky [5:08] 6 Ultraglide [3:16] 7 Living With The Law [5:00] 8 Erotic City [3:10] 9 Poison Girl [3:43] 10 Phonecall From Leavenworth [5:04] +++++++++++++++++++++++ Remarks from NoSpEx: Sourced from the above noted FLAC Files: A Great Recording buit it had some technical problems. A frequency analysis showed a sharp peak @20.5 kHz, which was unikely to been recorded on the original Sbd cassette. Following the: Sbd.cass>CD>EAC>FLAC lineage, iIt seems the conversion from cassette to CD added Sampling Noise. Also the Fr.An. showed an abnormal frequency spectrum for such a recording, very much like the cassette was played into the soundcard with wrong settings for Tape Bias and / or DolbyNR decoding. This is the result of "trial and error" using technical sense, trying to correct these things. After all, it hasn't got the hiss and the "dangerous" 20.5 kHz spike from the original FLACs, that warms-up your Tweeters and your Amp (that is, if your amp has that bandwidth).
