I decoded it back to wav using Trader's Little Helper, then split the single file into 18 corresponding tracks with Sony Sound Forge. I then used EZ CD Audio Converter to change all the split tracks back to flac, this time using the latest flac codec (1.3.1) at level 8. Also, for whatever reason there was approximately 8 seconds of dead silence at the beginning of the flac file and about 4 seconds at the end; so seeing as there was no reason to keep it this way, I deleted both the pre and post trailing dead silence, which resulted in a 13 second difference. Single flac file (01:32:42), my separated 18 flac files (01:32:29). So to my knowledge, the lineage for this recording now goes like this: AUD > ? > 1st gen audio tape > CD-R > WAV > FLAC > TLH > 1 wav file > sony sound forge > remove pre/post trailing dead silence > split wav into 18 separate tracks > EZ CD Audio Converter > flac 1.3.1 (level 8)
